COVID-19

Restrictions due to Coronavirus

Update: 20th May 2020
It will not have escaped anyone wishing to sail in Abersoch in 2020 that travel and activity restrictions, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, may affect plans for Abersoch Sailing Club in 2020.
Thankfully, the nature of the Club is that decisions about the viability of the Sailing Programme can be made quite close to the start of our racing season.
The Committee has discussed the planning of the 2020 season and consider that it is too early to make any firm plans, either to cancel the Sailing Programme or to announce that it will go ahead.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are in regular contact with RYA Cymru Wales, Beach Control and local authorities, in order to assess the viability of what boating activity will be permitted.
An ongoing risk assessment of Club activities is underway, to allow the Sailing Programme to be able to go ahead at short notice, if at all possible. The Sailing Programme will, of course, remain provisional until closer to the beginning of the season.
Abersoch Sailing Club would like to emphasise that we fully support the restrictions that have been put in place by the Welsh Government and will continue to work with the relevant bodies in order to continually update our members.
We wish our members and friends of the club good health.
