Here are a few of the frequently asked questions we get about ASC! If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Where do I join?

There are 2 ways you can join ASC. Firstly, you can join at webcollect.org.uk/asc. Secondly, in the summer you can find one of our ASC committee members on the beach and we can give you an application form to fill out before hitting the water. If you join by the second method we accept cash payment and you can sail the same day you join!

Do you have a clubhouse?

We do not – ASC is entirely run off the beach in order to keep our costs low and membership affordable!

Are there any changing facilities?

We do not have changing facilities but there are public toilets and outdoor showers at both ends of the beach.

Where do I store my boat?

Our members keep their boats on Abersoch main beach. Dinghies have been safely kept on Abersoch beach for decades. Numerous sailing events are held in Abersoch every year so there is usually a large number of dinghies on the beach during the summer. If you have any further concerns, contact the council’s beach control on 07831 216043.

How do I get my boat onto the beach?

We recommend bringing your boat onto the beach via the slipway from the Abersoch Beach Car Park golf club end of the beach. The postcode is LL53 7EY. Alternatively, follow directions for Abersoch Riding Centre which is next door. There is also a trailer park where you can leave your road trailer (bring a trailer lock if you choose to do so!).

Do you teach people to sail?

We do not teach people to sail. Our friends at Abersoch Sailing School run a variety of RYA sailing and powerboating courses to help you get started on the water. However, we do offer a Junior Race Training program every Monday during our season which aims to improve the racing skills of our clubs members. It is run by our in-house RYA level 2 race coaches.

Do you hire boats?

We do not hire boats. Again, however, our friends at Abersoch Sailing School can help you out!

Can I bring my dog on the beach?

Yes and no. During our sailing season dogs are not allowed on the beach between the slipway and the beach hut end of the beach. More information can be found out here.
